The Social Agriculture Foundation
It is the unfortunate reality that a significant proportion of farmers who feed the nation happen to fall within the poor and vulnerable category of citizens. Their social status means that they are often deprived of quality healthcare, education and other essential services.
From its inception, and as its name suggests, Social Agriculture Ghana has carefully balanced its commercial activities with various CSR initiatives to improve the quality of life within the farming communities. Some of these initiatives have included financial literacy classes, free health screening and the provision of clean drinking water.
As the need for these initiatives became more apparent, it became necessary to establish a distinct organization to implement all the CSR initiatives of Social Agriculture Ghana.
The Social Agriculture Foundation has been set up as separate legal entity with its own Board of Directors and secretariat who oversee the work of the Foundation.
The primary funding for the foundation is derived from a proportion of profit after tax from Social Agriculture Ghana as well as donations and grants from other philanthropic organizations.
The core areas of operation for the foundation are Financial Inclusion, Healthcare and Education.
